Autumn 2009

Autumn has come to Vilnius :) For a several weeks we have cold mornings, cold days, already have got some snow and heavy rains. And still some sun & golden leaves all around :)

New Lithuanian Champion

This Sunday, 2009.10.18, we took part in Siauliai National Show. Gella was 1/5 in the open class with CAC, which makes her LTCH Haute Couture Tik Romantika.

Total Drop Out

Well, summer 2009 seems quite disastrous for me:

1. Post-hospital and still very ill.
2. No money.
3. Was robbed - lost my passport, so currently living without any personal identification documents......
4. No shows for undefined time (it's a miracle that after all this I'm still thinking of SHOWS at all.....)

Good things:
- playing darts regularly :)
- got professional photosession for Gella (coming soon!) :)

ShowStop

This time I just sadly announce, that we are passing hard times once again. So probably we - me and Gella - will have no shows for some months. Kaunas National is the first one which we "cancel" in our schedule. This one was our chance to complete Champion title just in 2 weeks after the end of required 1 year waiting time, so I feel really sad about this.

Still don't know will I be able to take part at Valmiera's and Ukmerge's Nationals...

St.Petersburg Spring Grand Prix 2009

Well, sometimes every person has strange crazy ideas. I've got one of such in late January while browsing Internet in search of some interesting shows for upcoming year. Why not St.Petersburg? I've dreamed for years for a chance to visit this fabulous city, legendary capital of Russian tzars since Peter I and up to those crazy Bolsheviks who liked Moscow more. As I have no car or even driving license, and Lithuanian international trains don't accept dogs unless you pay for 4 human tickets instead of one, there was no much chances to get there. But there is THE LUCK. So, we are going to "Piter" with Lauryna's Lhasas and Uraganas afghans!

...::: THE CITY :::...

First impression in St.Petersburg - one of my all-time favourite music band plays here!!! Yeah, they will never come to Vilnius....

What to say about Piter? You should spend here minimum a week even for just walk about 15% of it's Center streets... The best word for descripe it's old city part is "Grandeur". Probably it would cover about 20 such "villages" as Vilnius. We was lucky enough to stay in the city heart just 5 meters from Nevsky avenue, Anichkov bridge, and Fontanka river. Well, maybe it's because I've never lived in REALLY big city - but I was amazed... You should be brave enough even for crossing that Nevsky ave in rush hour - we was there on weekend and it was overcrowded with cars...

I had not so much time for true discover of that city. It's windy and cold in April, and absolutely fantastic at night. Life burns in it's central part day and night. And for sure you should spend here a couple of months or even longer to understand, to feel, to know it. But... you can fall in love with that city in a hour.

excellent at Grand Prix Int Show under V. Shiyan (Ukraine)

excellent 3 at Whippet Speciality under S. Gladstone (USA)

Whippet speciality had huge entry of 40 whippets, bit less at Int Show (max for Lithuania is 20-25). We hadn't any special results this time. Anyway, there was some really nice whippets, especially some bitches from Petersburg (they had 90% of american lines in their breeding and possess some very nice features).

Spring is finally here!!! AND UPDATED WITH PICS!!!

Well, spring is here :) After cold march we have sunny April, yeah!

...And there is some changes in our life. Finally we have new flat - just about 500 m away from old one, but it is real flat with all things taht should be in a normal flat (did I mention, that for one year we both, me and Gella, lived in a hostel room with no facilities in it? probably I didn't...) Also new place is perfect: just 10 m - and you are in the park.... So, currently I'm on a 7th heaven, and Gella seems to join me :))

This weekend we participated at Vilnius Internationals 14 & 15.03.2009. On Sunday Gella was "awarded" with "v.g." from Markku Mahonen (Finland), when on Saturday at "Lithuanian Winner 2009" she got her 4th CAC and was BB-2 over champion class bitches with res.CACIB. BOB went to our breeder's Mrs Monika Taurasevieciene Irish import Ch. Barnesmore Ruby Princess, intermediate class bitch - Congratulations!

Well, this time it's neither my nor Gella's news, but I just NEED to publish this, as I am happy with this as if it was ours :))

So, last weekend 28.02.-1.03. the biggest show in Russia and Eastern Europe "Eurasia" took place in Moscow.

Mrs Monika Tauraseviciene, breeder of my Gella, participated with two whippet girls, her UK import Barnesmore Ruby Princess and own-breed 1 year old I'm Extravaganza Tik Romantika, the half-sister of Gella.

The results:

28.02. - Ruby CAC, CACIB; Extravaganza - JCAC, JBOB, RUS JCH !!!

1.03. - Ruby CAC, CACIB, BOB, new RUS CH!!! Extravaganza - JCAC !!!

Walk on a Sunny Day

We've got pretty sunny & cold weather this Sunday here in Vilnius. It's a kind of great feeling to wake up in the morning because of sun shining through your window, so the entire room is full of gold light. And of course, it's a perfect day to have a walk with your dog on a top of nearby hill (the Central area of Vilnius is full of such ancient hills). So we spend some nice time at "Table Hill" (called so for it's almost flat top of quite fair diameter), the highest hill of Kalnu Parkas ("Park of Hills"), just 10 minutes walking from our house, almost at the heart of Old Town.

Unfortunately, my camera is almost "dead", so it can't produce quality photos anymore... So just try to feel the whole sense of that day...

Nežinau, su kuo palyginti malonumą vėl būti ringe su savo šune ir jausti, kaip ji dirba šauniai, nors ir ožiai akyse, ir vis bėgti nori trigubai greičiau negu reikia, ir butinai preky manes :-))) Į šią parodą važiavom senbernaro Lojaus ir jo šeimininkų kompanijoje. Pirmą kartą nesivežiau į parodą narvo, tad turėjau progos pajausti jau pamirštus su tuo susijusius nepatogumus ir nerimą. (Mat tenka palikti šunį pririštą vieną, kad ir nesvetimų žmonių draugijoje, arba vestis kartu visur, kas anaiptol nėra lengva.) Visgi prisiminus šią parodą ir visas prieš tai buvusias, galiu prisiekus teigti, kad dar nesu praleidusi dienos parodoje tai šauniai. Gal dėl to, kad nulis nerimo dėl rezultato - juk sekančio CACo reikės tik vasarą... Ar dėl to, kad tiek daug pažįstamų ir jau pamėgtų veidų aplinkui - anksčiau per jaudulį daugelį jų nepastebėdavau... Ar tiesiog pasiilgau parodų tiek, kad pats grįžimo į jas faktas užgožė visą kitą. Žodžiu, buvo puiki diena. Gelytė padarė ją dar gražesne tapusi kurtų grupės nugalėtoja ir patekusi į BIS penketuką. Antra kartą tampam BIS-5, ir kažkaip jau norisi pakilti nors laipteliu aukščiau :-)))) Well, I hope we'll have a chance someday :-)))
