Probably all of you who follows my blog know that we planned Gella's first mating for almost 2 years and were forced to postpone it again and again, to my great regret. And now finally it is done :) Now we just waiting for August, when ultrasound will tell us if it is time to celebrate :)
We are back from Latvia, where our Gella at last had a "date" with young guy named Circus Magicus Gelos, or just Gelya :) We had great day with Gelos' owner Julia in her summer cottage, surrounded by greenery and Julia's warm hospitality, talking about dogs and watching two Gelas playing sparks to each other :)
Gelos already was one of my chosen males in December 2010. Although our final choice was for another candidate, this mating wasn't done, and this year we decided that Gelos is more appropriate partner for our whippet lady. He's well moving and well built dog with no sights of coarseness but full of power, his front is well filled and he has good angulation of both back and front, and last but not least - good topline. He comes from parents of good size and combines Scandinavian and French bloodlines.
Being only 12 months old, Gelos was BOB, Junior BIS and Reserve SBIS at Latvian Sighthounds Club Show, judged by sighthounds specialist Markku Mahonen from Finland ("Powder Horn"). 3 months later he again was Speciality BOB ant summer LV Club show under French judge Jean Louis Grunheid. Gelos is TOP Whippet Male in Latvia 2010 and #2 TOP whippet in Latvia.
